Help participants get in the fundraising game by organizing an active or sporting competition to benefit the Alzheimer's Assocation. Or ask others to support your individual participation. Come up with your own challenge, or use one of our suggestions.

How to do it

Active events

  1. Run a marathon
Or choose your own adventure - canoe, run, hike - and ask participants to collect donations.
  2. Yoga or tai chi class
Ask the instructors to donate their time and charge participants an entry fee.
  3. Bowl-a-thon
Sell tickets and ask for a donation from bowlers for every strike.
  4. Bike race
Charge an entry fee per rider.
  5. Darts
Host a tournament in a local bar and have teams compete to raise the most funds. Have volunteers bartend and donate their tips.
  6. Kayak or canoe race
Charge an entry fee; ask spectators to donate to support their favorite paddler. Ask a local sports store for donation of prizes.
  7. Basketball, baseball or softball tournament
Charge an entry fee per team and "pass the hat" among spectators.
  8. Car rally
Charge an entry fee per car. Have a "car wash for the cause" after the event and collect donations.
