You have the power to raise
awareness about Alzheimer's.
Thank you for your help.

We are asking communities of faith around the nation to take a simple action in your place of worship to help raise awareness and concern of Alzheimer's disease. As is appropriate to your method and place of worship, you can either offer the suggestions below individually, or work with your leadership to make a formal part of your observations.

Action ideas:

  • Someone in America develops Alzheimer’s every 71 seconds. Observe a 71 second moment of silence. Or, ring bells for 71 seconds.

  • Offer a special blessing or prayer of intercession for families in your faith or broader community who are struggling with Alzheimer’s today.

  • Suggest people say a personal prayer at an appropriate time of the day.

Additional ways to educate your faith community and get them involved:

  • Include Alzheimer’s information in your newsletter or Web site. Share the 10 Warning Signs.

  • Host a coffee hour with Alzheimer's Association program and service information.

  • Start or join a Memory Walk team.

  • Encourage families you know dealing with Alzheimer's disease to contact the Alzheimer's Association at 1.800.272.3900 for information and connection to local services. We are available to help anytime, day or night.
